Monitors of PM5000P Series are designed to monitor gamma or neutron or both gamma and neutron radiation in vehicles and luggage at various checkpoints. Radiation monitors may have one-pillar or two-pillar configurations depending on the site requirements, and can be installed both indoor or outdoor.
Radiation Monitors can be installed at vehicular, railway and pedestrian border crossings, at customs checkpoints to prevent the illicit penetration of the radioactive sources into the country or the limited-access areas, checkpoints of Nuclear power plants (NPPs), nuclear industry facilities, nuclear waste disposal and storage sites, check points in banks, offices.

Operation Principle
Radiation monitors may have one-pillar or two-pillar configurations depending on the site requirements, and can be installed both indoor or outdoor.
Monitors can be equipped with video monitoring system, computer and pager communication/notification system to ensure prompt assess to the experts, assigned to radiation monitoring tasks. When radioactive materials are detected or when the current background level threshold is exceeded, audible and visual alarms are triggered and alarm information is transferred to a computer.
If there is no remains power supply, the Monitor will be automatically powered from the built-in accumulator battery. The battery power enables at least 8 hours of Monitor work.
Modifications
- PM5000P - one-pillar gamma monitor with increased sensitivity due to use of detectors of larger volume
- PM5000P-01 - two-pillar gamma monitor
- PM5000P-02B - one-pillar gamma-neutron monitor (neutron detector is based on the one solid-state detector (10B/ZnS(Ag))
- PM5000P-03B - two-pillar gamma-neutron monitor (neutron detector is based on the one solid-state detector (10B/ZnS(Ag))
